‘Bigfoot’ reported in B.C.
Bella Coola, B.C. (AP) – “Bigfoot” is back.
A resident of this small coastal range town 25 miles west of Anahim Lake says he saw the legendary furry creature last week, according to the North American Wildlife Research Association (NAWRA).
The man said he was followed down a river by what he claims was a Bigfoot, or “Sasquatch,” as it is known. When he went back to check, he found footprints 16 ½ inches long.
There have been reports of Sasquatch sightings in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest for the past 75 years. The animals thought to be about eight feet tall with broad hand and feet.
The sighting here has prompted a Sasquatch expedition by two NAWRA members, Roy Lack, and eleven-year veteran Sasquatch tracker, and Jerry Jardstrom. Both men are from Medford, Ore.
According to Jim Cisler, a NAWRA spokesman, the two men will gather photographic evidence to verify the sighting. They will also take plaster casts of any footprints and set up a watch station to monitor any further Sasquatch activity.
The NAWRA set up a headquarters in Anahim Lake two weeks ago because of high frequency of sightings in the area, according to Cisler. He said that if a Sasquatch is located, his organization won’t capture it, but will instead attempt to document its life habits.
