I will chalk it up as having a out of the ordinary experience enjoying the beautiful night sky and quiet conditions while playing the wait and see/hear game. No missing time so I think I'm good there. Another thing that DID scare the tar out of me was when conditions were very dark & quiet, I had a big fish jump right beside the boat. Made me jump in the seat!

Once again researching out on Table Rock Lake near Bread Tray Mountain which is located near Lampe/Baxter MO area. Last year heard a scream near the Baxter side of Bread Tray Mountain, so this year went into the cove on the main lake side. Stopped outside the cove and went in trolling slowly(just after sundown) but still had alittle sunlight left. Saw some tree breaks and torn bark about 8-10 feet off the ground just toward the back of the cove, so I'd thought I'd wet a line too as I'm observing and listening. Two wood knocks, one not too far off and another farther away probably alerting others of me and my dog floating silently listening. Heavily forested and very sparely built area heard a couple of cars in an hours' time made for quiet conditions. Just before the first set of knocks, I heard what I can only describe as a man clearing his voice. After the knocks maybe 30 minutes later, heard a low wooo call. After another 15 minutes, a big bang noise was made coming from an area where no houses were. Then no noises for a while so I slowly trolled out toward the main lake, then had the exit wood knock so I'll try another area that has had activity on Table Rock. Two weeks ago, my wife along with our grandkids were fishing near Ridgedale waaay back in a cove that we have experienced a loud tree crash a couple of years ago. This is near where a creek empties into the cove in about 4/5 feet of water when we all smelled something awful, like rotting/dead carcus nearby. Couldn't see anything but the smell would come and go and wind was dead still. Probably we were watched if they are curious about children making noises laughing and talking. I would not put my family in harms way, and eventually we left with nothing else happening. Will add more later if I have more results.
