ME PISCATAQUIS 1866 TR#77 * John Horrigan of the Bay State Bigfoot Society In Maine, Mt. Katahdin was a hot spot...where all storms originate, according to the natives. In 1866, Mike Cluey, a trapper, reported a seven foot creature, red, from across a river at the base of the mountain, and it was pawing for fish.

Told supervisor he was not going back alone. A week later, he and the supervisor went to the same location and saw a creature 4-500 yards away outlined at the top of the hill.

TR 77 MAY 98 In 1886, the New York Times ran an article about Williamstown, Mass. (at the Vermont border), where a Wild Man was reported. It had bright red hair, a long straggly beard, wild eyes, and sprang from behind a rock. The hunters shot at it and there were screams of pain, then the thing charged the hunters, and they dropped their weapons and bolted.

TR 52 OCT 95 * TR 52 OCT 95 of the NE Bigfoot Center, 203-582-4752, received from Joseph M. Deardrade some Bridgewater, MA.. reports. They don't seem to be listed in Berry's Bigfoot On The East Coast, so I'll put them in the record now. (I) 1978. a man from West Bridgewater claimed to have spotted a large furry man-like creature in the Hockomock Swamp. (2) A family saw a strange furry ape-like creature in a swamp. 1980. (3) 1985. A researcher claimed to have seen a 6 1/2 foot tall furry man-like animal near his camp, standing near to the woodline. near the Hockomock Swamp, 1985.
