REPORT RECEIVED: From the GCBRO Online Reports Submissions Form

DATE: November, 1999

TIME: Night Time

LOCATION: Near Buna and Deweyville, Texas, Newton/Jasper Counties

TERRAIN: Wooded

OBSERVED: This was told to me by a land owner who runs a huge hunting club in the area. One of the hunters was allowed to run his coon dog to practice for competition at night on the lease. While running his dogs, he noticed they were acting funny. When they got to this one point, they ran 1/4-mile back to his truck. He tried to get them to go back and finally had to drag them. At this point, something started hollering at them through the bushes. He described the noise as a "growl/scream" and said it scared the heck out of him. He feared for his life because whatever was making the noise sounded angry. This man who has hunted for more than 40 years and that is with hunting dogs said he has never heard anything like that and will NEVER run his dogs on that property again. This encounter happened only a couple of hundred yards from where a GCBRO investigator has made plaster casts of tracks and found intensive activity. It's also located within 1/2 mile of where a previous GCBRO report was made.

Description of Creature:

Activities of Witness: Running coon dogs.

REPORT RECEIVED: From the GCBRO Online Reports Submissions Form

DATE: October, 1995

TIME: 4:30 P.M.

LOCATION: Old Salem, Texas, Newton County

TERRAIN: Wooded

OBSERVED: My wife was driving slowly along a county road when a large creature walking stooped over crossed the road in front of her. This creature was a dingy gray around six feet tall with shaggy hair. I went back and tried to find prints but the soil was loose sand that would not hold a foot print. We kidded her for several years until a hunter reported seeing a similar creature a mile or so away a couple of years latter.

Description of Creature: Six foot tall, shaggy hair, a dingy gray color

Activities of Witness: Driving slowly along a country road.

Other Notes: : The hunter said the thing he seen was very shaggy and had a foul
smell. It was a brown color.

Other Other Notes: This was about 3 miles from the Sabine River

DATE: Late July 1998

LOCATION: Newton County

TERRAIN: Bottom land, with scattered oak and other trees.

OBSERVED: Myself along with my Dad and another friend were scopeing out some area to go ahead and put up our deer stands for this winters hunt. We went into an area where we had hunted before, in fact we have
hunted this area for several years now, but have never came across anything like this before. While back into a bottom area, we heard something that I really can't explain. Something made a loud screaming noise that was unlike anything any of us had ever heard. We discussed what it could have possibly been, but none of us could make an accurate guess of exactly what it may have been. Something that was not right, that's for sure. We listened and didn't hear anything else, so after a good 15 minutes we didn't let our guard down, but we did go about looking for a good deer stand location. Then something strange happened, I cannot really explain it, but something just seemed to be watching us or something. I guess you'd call it a very uneasy feeling.
We looked all around us in every possible direction, but seen nothing. But even after seeing nothing, we still just could not shake that feeling. After another good 15-20 minutes, we stopped again and started to listen, . After maybe 5 minutes or so, my Dad said "What the hell is that thing"! I looked and got a quick glance of a very large dark figure stepping behind a clump of trees. I have hunted these woods and the surrounding areas around here all my life, and my father has done the same, and neither of us have ever seen anything quite like that
thing. My dad mentioned, that we needed to get out of there and we left heading into a different direction from which we came, as the creature was standing somewhere in the clump of trees in the direction from which we had just came. We made a very wide circle, and probably walked a good 2 miles out of the way to try and avoid whatever it was. We did hear something taking steps on the debris on several occasions, as if it was escorting us out of the area. I didn't see anything else of it, but I never shook that feeling, and I just know it followed us out of the woods. My Dad and I decided to go back the next weekend in hopes of the anticipated upcoming deer season, but hoped we wouldn't meet up with that thing again. Basically we were hoping it may have moved on to wherever it came from. After we got into the interior woods a good bit, I got the same eerie feeling as I had before, although we didn't see anything this time, I know it was watching us again. I can tell you one thing, we are moving to a different area to set up our hunting spots.

Again, I have hunted these woods all my life, and have never seen or heard anything like this thing. I could only think of it being one thing and that was a Bigfoot, and that is what lead me to you guys.

Description of Creature: About 8-81/2 foot tall, dark brownish black hair covering it's whole body. It had what seemed like a slight point on the back of its head. I saw this as it turned and stepped to go behind the trees, and it walked on two legs, so this ruled out a bear for us, as it never went down from what we saw. Plus what we saw was NO bear, this thing was more ape like in appearance. I have read other reports on the internet after seeing this thing, and they mention something about smelling the thing. Well we didn't smell anything but we sure heard and saw the thing.

Other Notes: I have since talked to another individual who says he saw something just like it, in an area about 15 miles from where we were at.

TERRAIN: Wooded

OBSERVED: Two twenty year old boys who wish to remain nameless were ran out of woods by animal
making loud territorial noises. They said it sounded like a growl/scream and was extremely loud. One of the boys has spent extensive time around big cats (cougars, Africa lions, etc.) and said it sounded nothing like them.

TIME: 11:00 pm

LOCATION: Newton County, Texas

TERRAIN: Wooded

OBSERVED: My brother and I have a camp house on the Xxxx River, close to Xxxxxxx, Texas. The camp house is on about a one acre tract and we own 30 acres across the river. I was out on our dock fishing one night when I heard an awful scream and some knocking sounds. The scream sounded like a lady screaming. I know it was not a screech owl. Because of the knocking or banging noise, I am wondering if it was a bigfoot. Needless to say, I went immediately to the camp house and did not go back out that night.

Additional Things: One thing that was very obvious is that there was no noise, except for the screaming and knocking. Usually when out on the dock I can hear owls, fish jumping, frogs, and other noises. On this night I did not hear anything like that. It was kind of a spooky calm.

Activities of Witness: No activities except fishing.

Description of Creature: Did not see the creature, only heard it.

Other Notes: N/A

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes: There was another night that I went out (October 2014) and I noticed how still and calm everything was. I did not stay outside. I went back in to the camp house.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments: N/A
