ID,Kootenai,47,45,116,54,d,July,1976,noon-1PM, * Kathy Lang reports that 16 years ago; 7/76; while on vacation at Couer D' alene Lake in Idaho; she was confronted by a Bigfoot. She was with a bunch of kids playing in an abandoned camp with cabins and she was thrown in the lake while the other kids ran off. As she was headed back to her parents camp; two miles north of town; just beyond a small peninsula; she saw something kind of loping down the trail; apparently bent over or on all fours. She thought it was a bear and froze so not to attract its attention. Then it stood to full 7-8 foot height and looked at her. "It was huge; maybe 450#." I ran to my parents cabin nearby and got into the bunk and stayed there. It had glossy jet black hair; not long; "about bear length;" but was so human-like that she at first thought it looked like a man in a monkey suit. The sun was shining on him and their was a blonde colored field of grass behind him and on the hill behind the abandoned cabins for contrast. The creatures head was sloping back to a point; the size was to big for it to be a man; and it was definitely not a bear; it was thick through the waist and had monstrous legs; the mouth was shut...lips not thin or thick; and the jaw was prominent; "huge; I thought it was gonna' eat me." The incident was about noon-1 PM; and it was 50-60 yards away. She was most impressed by the black leathery face with the almost flat nose; and was frozen for 30 seconds or so before she panicked and started running; "my heart stopped;". There was also a peculiar odor; like it needed a bath very badly. Later her father found her clogs; dug into the dirt and just laying there. * In late June, 1974, Juanita Arrington was traveling south on Hwy. 95 out of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho...she's not sure how far she had gone. At 2-3:00 AM, as she was rounding a sharp bend going downhill, she noticed a tall, furry, not-a-bear, creature as it went around a really huge boulder. The six foot creature looked human in her headlights as it froze for a second, before running behind the boulder. She screeched to a halt, more to avoid hitting the creature, but by then it was gone in the darkness.

Seifried, Stopping at Wagonhammer Springs for water, This was the mouth of the same canyon he had heard the sounds, only 3000 feet 'above the road. Three miles from that locale while spreading grass seed on a slope at the end of the winter of 1977-78, a breeze carried the horrible scent earlier described.

ID, * Internet. I'm not sure if a Bigfoot story; but something happened during the summer of 1993. I worked for the Fst. Service as an Assistant Wilderness Ranger in the Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness; CN. My partner and I were on patrol 100 miles from the nearest town and clearing trail. Asleep in my tent; I heard something walking around my tent that I thought was a bear or something. I was lying there scared and awake; when all of a sudden something clamped down on my leg through the tent. I screamed and heard it leaving. My partner told me the next day that she hadn't been up nor heard anything. I still don't know what it was; but it really felt like a hand closing around my leg. There are major lava flows near here that could have natural lava tunnels and sink holes that Bigfoot could live in. \Also; story of little people in Indian legend. Stories told of the little people that would come and take the children away; and some of them never returned. The kids that came back were nuts; and it was said that the little people would eat the kids. Then at a big Pow Wow the elders got together and prayed to the Great Spirit for help from the little people. ID NEZ PERCE MISG TR#70 Ms. Florey had several tantalizing tidbits for us. One of the things she does, is analyze droppings and hairs...a new resource for us (contact her at 21507 54th Place W., Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043). She told also of Bigfeet in the mountains turning over boulders to look for mice or pica, and commented on a Bigfoot sighted in a domestic raspberry patch near Lewiston, ID. One of her more interesting items was the announcement that a helicopter newsreel clip seen on television had a good close-up of tracks through the ash field after Mt. St. Helens erupted. The stride was much greater than human and was in an area on the east side of the mountain that was sealed off. The news didn’t comment on the tracks, that were deeper on the right side than the left. Mary Jo thinks it might have been a female Bigfoot carrying a child.

ID VALLEY 1993 TR#77 44 54N 116 06W * Dr. Jim Karl, May 19th vonohain@sprynet.com I picked up a second hand story on the plane flight home. My plane stopped in Reno for about a half hour to pick up more passengers. A nice young family was sitting in front of me, and I started talking with the father, who looked about thirty years old. I mentioned that I had made an effort to look for A Bigfoot. He told me the following: A friend of his, now 27 years old, had been an avid outdoorsman until about five years ago when he sighted an eight foot five Bigfoot near McCall, Idaho. The Bigfoot appeared very angry to the young man, and he gave up going into the wilderness ever since. The gentleman, telling me the story, appeared very sincere and believable. The exact height "eight feet five inches" suggests that there may have been a good reference marker nearby (although it doesn't sound like the witness would have gone back by himself with a tape measure). Perhaps, the man is good at estimating height.
