Cleaning up the Bigfoot Community PDF Print E-mail
Written by D.W. Lee

Over the course of the last year, certain members of the Bigfoot Community have invaded Bigfoot Talk Show Chat Rooms and turned these places into the equivalent of an online "Swingers" chat.  The depravity and vulgarity that they bring to the chat rooms have not only made themselves look bad, but the entire Bigfoot Community as a whole.

The MABRC has always maintained a family friendly atmosphere on their chat room for the Bigfoot Field Guide radio show, banning folks who got out of control.  This was done in the view that members of the audience could possibly be minor children who have an interest in Bigfoot, and want to hear what the guest has to say.

The latest incident happened on a radio show last night, in which the three main culprits continued doing what they've done for the last year, bring the chat room down into their own depravity.  The MABRC is reaching out to other radio show hosts, in an attempt to clean up the image of the Bigfoot Community and bring back some respect to it from the outside world.  How, as a community, do we expect to be taken serious by science, when we have people that act this way in public chat rooms and forums.

It's time to bring credibility back to the Bigfoot Community, but it will take many, not a few to do it.  If you would like to help, contact D.W. on Facebook or on the contact page of the MABRC Forums.  Let's take out the trash, and start cleaning things up.

ABOM: A Bigfoot Online Museum PDF Print E-mail

The MABRC has begun groundwork on ABOM: A Bigfoot Online Museum as put forth by Roger Knights and others.  This Online Museum is described in detail at the link here.  Seeking cooperation from other Bigfoot Research Groups and Independent Researchers, the MABRC is hoping to get help in building this massive project.

Here is what D.W. Lee, Executive Director of the MABRC has to say about the effort.

After much debate, I've decided to activate a portion of the forum called the Bigfoot Online Museum. I've thought about doing this for several years now, with over 2 tetrabytes of information collected from around the Internet related to Bigfoot, I've tried to incorporate it all into the forum in the OSSIE Database. The OSSIE Database is suited for the forum, but I feel that an Online Museum under pretty much the guidelines set forth below would also be beneficial to the community. At issue though is this, I must send out feelers to other groups, individuals and holders of copyrights to see if their evidence, articles, papers and more can be displayed on the BOM. This is for non-profit, I make no money off this forum, there are no ads anywhere on this forum to generate money, most of the expense is out of my personal pocket. I don't think many will have an issue with it.

The running and maintenance of the BOM would not only be done my MABRC members, but ordinary Forum members too. This would allow other groups to help maintain it. In that event, I am creating a group that would have editing powers for that section of the forum, as well as looking at the creation of a possible 5 or 6 person oversight board, that would include members of contributing information.

I know, I have so much on my plate now, but if conducted right, the information will be developed independent of my functions on the forum, and what I've contributed in the past with. I would very much appreciate all comments, suggestions and even criticism from this endeavor. And if you are not a forum member, and would like to comment on this issue, please send me an e-mail at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will answer as soon as possible.
