Randy Harrington, one of our Senior Field Researchers, had an experience in the Chickasaw Park, Oklahoma in February of 2006, dealing with several Bigfoot making Owl-type sounds, even rummaging in the back of his truck

Here is the statement he made on it to Squatchdetective, which he requested be posted here for others to read.

"This occurred on February 9th, 2006.

I was at a park in South central Oklahoma. 4 or 5 days before this I was just south of Honobia, Ok. where some rocks were thrown at my tent in the middle of the night, but that is another story. Anyhow I am at this park where I am to meet my friend the following day. I pull into the park as it is a camping area and the first thing I see is that i am the only one in the park.

I set my tent up and go to town to get me some grub. I got back to the park at about 7:00 P.M. and it was just getting dark. I taped a parobolic microphone to the top of my truck facing the rear towards a creek that runs along the side of this park, a few miles from a lake known to have bigfoot sightings.

I taped blankets to the windows to block my movements from anything outside. I left an opening at the drivers door so I could see in front or to the drivers side of the truck. the wind was pretty strong. visibility was excellent due to the full moon. I had containers in my truck to urinate in because I did not want any movement to be seen from my truck. (no doors opening)

At about 9:30 P.M. I started hearing some leaves being walked through towards the rear of the park but it was still too early to get excited as I had been fooled by armadillo and racoons in the past.

At some point the animal crossed one of the many rock paths connecting the camp sites, and when it did i clearly heard something being drug through the rocks. I really started focussing on that particular movement.

I tell you there was no order to its wandering, it almost sounded like someone taking a sunday stroll and every time it crossed a rock path I would hear that stick dragging.

I realized it was a stick because shortly thereafter as it would pass these metal post that are in each camp site for hanging lanterns on, it would wack it with the stick and you would hear it go CLANG!!

I was recording all this activity through my microphone but did not realize until the next day how much wind was also being recorded. After about an hour more of walking and banging these metal posts, I know the moment it saw my truck because up to that point it was constantly on the move and now it just stopped completely.

It stood quietly for several minutes and i shortly new how close it was. it did a tree knock ( one single knock ) and a few minutes later I heard movement coming across the creek towards my truck and that is about the time I saw the first one! I was looking down the driverside mirror and about 20 or 30 yards behind my truck I saw 2, possibly 3 bigfoot ducking in and around some trees and scrub looking in the direction of my truck. Now my heart was beating so hard I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

I had I video recorder in my lap and i was hoping they would move up in the front of my truck so i could hit the lights and video them. (that never happened) Then I started hearing some calls that did not quite sound like an owl, but it was some type of hoot. I heard 7 or 8 of these calls in just a couple of minutes and then I really got spooked because they started coming up behind my truck. now up to this time i never moved, just recording (audio).

Well one came around the driverside of my truck and I got my first height reference, the racks on the back of my truck is 7 ft. high and this squatch was a full head higher. I thought my chest was going to explode with my heartbeat to the point that I leaned forward so my back wasn't touching the seat because I was sure they would be able to feel it through the metal of my truck.

Well after I saw the big guy on my side of the truck I slowly let my blankets close because I thought it was coming up to look in the windows.( if I would have had a face to face with only glass separating us I am sure I would have fainted)

My heart rate is elevated right now as I relive it in my mind. Well it must not have come down my side of the truck because my back end of my truck dropped about 10 inches when one or more of these creatures climbed on. I immediately started crapping a brick, i thought they were in my truck and about to climb onto the cab. (I even put my hand on the key in case I had to bolt)

Anyway I heard them rummaging through some tubs and things I had in the bed of my truck and then I heard clang! They had bumped 2 one pound propane cylinder tanks together. They then continued banging them together for awhile tapping them like they enjoyed the sound.

I was still hoping they would move to the front of my truck for a good video opportunity. but that did not happen, they then got off the truck and started leaving. their sounds got further away and i could breath again.

The next morning when it was light, I got out and looked my truck over and saw smudge marks on the back bumper and inside the truck a generator was turned over and my 2 full bottles of propane were gone! now about an hour or two after they left I thought I heard those tanks being banged in the distance but I did not know until i saw my tanks ,that they were mine."

The following images are from Squatchdetective and their analysis of Randy's recording. It's posted here to back up Randy's account.

Spectrogram from 1st Hoot

Spectrogram from last hoot

The clarity of the hoots signature get clearer indicating the source is moving closer to the microphone, consistent with Randy's account. The signature peaks just above the 5 kHz range

Long Eared Owl Hoot

The Owl hoot peaks to 6kHz and has a slightly different signature pattern. Indicating the hoot's Randy taped were not of the same owl.

Squatchdetective has compared this audio with over ten different Owl species and placed it as primate-made.
