With the prospect of a rainy weekend, the weather cleared by the second day, and they got down to business and it all culminated with a close encounter with a bipedal animal.

 Here is a small excerpt from Digger about the expedition.

Expedition Summary – The expedition was excellent. It was a total blast even with the unfortunate weather. For a first expedition, this more then fulfilled my dreams of an encounter. I feel actually very lucky, as I’m sure wammy9 does. Many go out squatchin’ multiple times and never get anything. We got our feet wet our first trip! To start let me (digger), and I am pretty sure wammy9 will testify to this same idea, apebait and nwgabigfoothunter showed us what true southern hospitality was all about. They truly led the expedition in a very respectful fun way, provided us with everything information-wise that we would need while there, and never for one moment led us to believe anything less than the whole trip was for us. Everything was discussed as a group. Each decision was made to be for the best of all us as a group and no one was made to feel as they didn’t count or that they had to be pushed into a discomfort zone. They know that mountain like the back of their hand and you get that feeling as you see them maneuver it, which puts you at immediate ease that you’re not with some fools out in a brutal environment like this. Them Georgia boys rolled out the red carpet for us really. I would like to verbally say to them now in this summary….thank you very much for your time, understanding, and friendship. I hope we are friends for a long time to come. Those are the exact kind of people I look for to be a part of my life until the good Lord calls my number. God Bless you guys!
