Prior and during the Honobia Bigfoot Conference 2009, the MABRC had boots on the ground in the surrounding hills, conducting research on a scale never before attempted.

 An advance team arrived on Monday night Sept. 28, 2009 and loaded up their gear on a Polaris Ranger and 2 four-wheelers.  The team was comprised of Driveroperator, Bushman, Squatchfinder, No Mercy and Darkwing.

During the ride up to the first night's base camp, Bushman lost a new walkie-talkie on the trail, while Squatchfinder discovered some pictures in his coat pocket had fallen out onto the foot rest on his 4 wheeler.

The events that transpired after that have shocked quite a few folks, including some of the scientists and other noted guests that were in the Honobia area during that time.

The first structure to be found was a two rock column with an Alco plastic bag between the two, it was placed in the middle of the trail that led to the first night's camp.  With the MABRC's leave no trace policy, Driveroperator jumped out and got the plastic bag, as the MABRC leaves no trash behind.  It would be the next morning before he would look into the bag before throwing it away and discover the picture that Squatchfinder had dropped 5 days earlier.

The second structure was found on the main trail coming up, and is shown in the picture below.  A plastic water bottle was placed on top, and it to was centered in the trail.  Thinking someone was playing a trick or making a rather pathetic attempt to "gift" the locals, Mike Hall began dismantling it so that Polaris could move on the trail.  In the back of the Polaris rode Thom Powell.

When Mike removed the cover rock, he picked up the walkie talkie and showed it to both Thom and Driveroperator, and that is when Driveroperator realized it could possibly be Bushman's walkie talkie from 4 days earlier. 

Upon returning to base camp, Thom Powell suggested that nothing be said until after Bushman was asked if it was his radio, when Bushman confirmed it, they then told the story of what happened.

The next morning, day 1 of the conference, Driveroperator and Mike Hall announced to the audience about the find and told the details of that event.  Video was shot of the announcement and will be posted to YouTube as soon as it's ready.
