Tested PlotWatcher out on wild plum tree just getting ripe. Ran for 3 days with standard AA batteries, and was still operating when I picked it up(no activity except one deer passing by). Reput out with 4X AA batteries and will check in week. I didn't like the mounting stake it came with( 30" tall and 1" diameter and made from plastic) so I got a short 4' tall 1/2" dia ground rod and drilled and tapped 1/4" thread on top of it to mount camera. A lot easier to push into ground also. There is also a 3 second setting that could be used on the 3 day shorter run, but would think you might run out memory if using 3 second for 7 days.

What does Plotwatcher cost and where can you buy one?

I have seen one at Cabelas and the cost from them is $199.99. I am going to check some other places and see if they have them cheaper. If I do find it cheaper I will let you know.
