I agree it was a fascinating study, I think (hopefully) they will be releasing more audio in the months to come. They sounded somewhat human till they hit those high notes that Mariah Carey couldnt reach.

I know this is an older thread, but I just had to comment on the recordings. Amazing! This was the first time I had heard these type of vocalizations. I haven't had the privilege of my own sighting, but after listening to these, I hope to even more!
I find it hard to believe mainstream science does not even acknowledge the possibility of a North American Ape. But the same mainstream scientists were forced to acknowledge the short sightedness and bias when other species were proven to exist, i.e. the giant squid, and the coleacanth. I believe the same will hold true when Sasquatch is proven to exist.
I have the highest regard and respect for Dr. Jeff Meldrum for pursuing this with dedication and determination. I fervently hope he is credited with the discovery, and the privilege of having this unique creature named for him.

what was the final word on this? hoax or not. i know some felt it was a big hoax but, as far as i know there was never any admission that it was. the location was suspect after TBRC announced where this was happening. after that everyone assumed hoax and forgot about it. anyone know?
